Career Executive Examinations

A Career Executive Assignment (CEA) is an appointment to a high administrative and policy-influencing position for which the primary responsibility is the managing of a function or rendering of management advice to top level administrative authority.

Continuous Filing Examinations

Testing is considered continuous as dates can be set at any time. The Notices of Testing announce the anticipated testing for continuous examinations.

Open Examinations

Open Examinations are open to the general public. Competition is open to all interested applicants who meet the minimum qualifications (MQs). You do not have to be a State employee to qualify.

Promotional Examinations

Applicants must be currently employed with OSHPD or have eligibility to compete in OSHPD’s promotional examinations and have a permanent civil service appointment without a permanent break in service as of the final filing date.

Staff Services Analyst (SSA) Transfer Examinations

Competition is limited to OSHPD employees who meet the requirements to laterally transfer to the SSA Classification.
