This visualization shows hospitalization data for the three main types of weight loss (Bariatric) surgeries and examines trends in the types of surgeries performed at individual hospitals between 2010-2014.  The count of surgeries does not include surgeries performed in outpatient settings.

Number of Weight Loss Surgeries Performed in California Hospitals – The dataset contains the number for five types of weight loss (bariatric) surgeries (Open Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, vertical sleeve gastrectomy , and biliopancreatic diversion ) performed in California hospitals.

Patient Discharge Data by Admission Type – This dataset contains the distribution of inpatient discharges by type of admission for each California hospital for years 2009-2015.

Patient Discharge Data by Age Groups – This dataset contains the distribution of inpatient discharges by age group for each California hospital, 2009 – 2015.
